Tokio Marine HCC International said Tuesday it is restructuring its transaction risk insurance division, separating its North American and international business into two units.
Shane de Burca will head up TRI North America, the North American operation, supporting clients in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Mr. de Burca, based in New York, joined Tokio Marine HCC in 2017 and was previously lead underwriter for transactional risk insurance in North America.
Adrià Vázquez will lead the international transactional risk insurance operation, which covers all territories outside North America, from the insurer’s financial lines hub in Barcelona, Tokio Marine said. Mr. Vázquez previously led the Asia Pacific team from Singapore.
A.J. Kritzman has also been named transactional risk insurance underwriting manager for North America, while Laura Roman has been named transactional risk insurance underwriting manager for international, Tokio Marine said. Mr. Kritzman and Ms. Roman were previously senior underwriters.
The new roles are designed to foster collaboration across the regions on underwriting strategy, market trends and talent development, Tokio Marine said.
Tom Burke has been promoted to transactional risk insurance manager for Asia-Pacific, based out of Sydney, Australia. Mr. Burke was previously senior underwriter.
Japanese insurer Tokio Marine Holdings Inc.’s net income surged by more than 330% year-on-year to 269.3 billion Japanese yen ($2.4 billion) in the fiscal first half ending Sept. 30, Nasdaq reported citing RTT News. Net premiums written rose 6% to JPY1.9 trillion.
