BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Business Insurance on Thursday announced the West region honorees for its inaugural 40 under 40 Regional Broker Leaders Awards.

The honorees are:

• Schuyler Briscoe, vice president at Alliant Insurance Services Inc. in Seattle.

• Jim Gillette, managing principal at Edgewood Partners Insurance Center, which does business as EPIC, in Los Angeles.

• Robin Hendry, assistant vice president and senior account executive at ABD Insurance & Financial Services Inc.

• Erik Johansson, senior vice president in the surety practice at Willis Insurance Services of California Inc., in Irvine, Calif., a unit of Willis Group Holdings P.L.C.

• Ryan Roberts, vice president of Kibble & Prentice, a Seattle-based unit of USI Holdings Corp.

• Mike Taylor, vice president of Taylor-Leavitt Insurance, a Billings, Mont.-based unit of Leavitt Group.

The 40 Under 40 program recognizes leadership attributes, client service skills and expertise among retail insurance brokers. The program is divided into five regions of the United States with eight honorees per region.

While brokerages can nominate multiple candidates for each region, only one nominee per firm can be recognized for each region. Honorees are selected by a panel of Business Insurance editors.

Earlier this month, Business Insurance announced the winners in the Northeast region.

Nominations are still open for brokers working in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest.
