Cyber insurers’ average ransomware payouts surpass $3.5 million

A survey by enterprise security company Panaseer Ltd. found that largest ransomware payouts made by cyber insurers averaged £3.26 million ($3.9 million) in the U.K. and $3.52 million in the past two years, Reinsurance News reported. The survey indicated that ransomware is now the greatest cyber threat in, with 82% of insurers expecting further hikes in cyber insurance premiums as the threat grows.
