Mapfre’s premium income grows 11% in first quarter

Spanish insurer Mapfre SA’s total premium income increased almost 11% year-on-year to approximately €6.54 billion ($7 billion) in the first quarter of the year, Estrategias de Inversion reported. Mapfre’s insurance unit posted more than 12% increase in premium income to €5.5 billion, while its reinsurance unit saw over 17% growth to €1.86 billion.
