Gallagher buys Georgia broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Wednesday it has acquired commercial broker Garner & Glover Co.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Rome, Georgia-based Garner & Glover provides commercial property/casualty coverage and risk management services to clients throughout the U.S. Garner & Glover has 25 employees, all of whom are joining Gallagher.

President Matt Sirmans, Vice President Chuck Shaw and their employees will remain at their current location under the direction of Peter Doyle, head of Gallagher’s Southeast region retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and John Tournet, head of Gallagher’s Southeast region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO, said the deal is in “an attractive and growing region of the U.S.”

The deal comes on the heels of Gallagher’s buy of reinsurance assets divested in the Aon PLC-Willis Towers Watson PLC deal.

Arthur J. Gallagher is the fourth-largest brokerage ranked by revenue generated by U.S. clients, according to Business Insurance’s 2020 ranking.
