African reinsurance market won’t be affected by global market problems: Report

A report by Swiss research firm Dr. Schanz, Alms and Co. found that African reinsurers expect financial results to improve in 2018 as the underlying market fundamentals remain largely unaffected by the current global market decline, The Nation reported. Due to low exposure to natural catastrophes and largely uncorrelated risks, Africa remains a "diversification play" and will continue to attract capacity, the report said.
