Chinese authorities have ordered the supplier of German automotive parts maker Schaeffler A.G. to halt operations as they ramp up environmental regulations in an effort to tackle the country's pollution problems, Nikkei Asian Review reports. Schaeffler said it would also be forced to stop production if supply from the metal-processing company is cut off. Schaeffler supplies auto parts to Chinese joint ventures of General Motors Co. and Volkswagen A.G.
