Hong Kong protests could affect economy: Region head

The ongoing protests in Hong Kong over the region's constitutional development have affected traffic on roads and are hampering people's daily lives, Business Standard reported.

Hong Kong Chief Executive C.Y. Leung said protesters have "blocked" some major roads and this has "disrupted emergency fire and ambulance services over the past few days."

Mr. Leung said the protests are expected to continue for quite some time and this will affect Hong Kong's economic development.
