Spain’s Insurance Compensation Consortium is taking steps to process claims for damage caused by wind that affected the country during the weekend of Jan. 19 and 20, reports Extremadura De Hoy.
For damage caused by flooding, the CCS will use expert opinion for payment of claims.
The CCS has requested the State Meteorological Agency to prepare a report to determine the areas where wind speed exceeded 120 kilometers per hour.
While the agency prepares the report, the CCS and AXA S.A. have agreed that the company's customers can forward their wind damages to AXA.
Between Jan. 18 and 20, AXA witnessed 332 claims for damage by rain and wind, with a 67% increase in claims for wind damage and a 96% increase for rain damage claims.
