Mark Lyons returns to AIG as chief actuary for general insurance

American International Group Inc. said Monday that Mark D. Lyons will rejoin the insurer as senior vice president and chief actuary for general insurance, effective June 1.
Mr. Lyons is returning to AIG from Arch Capital Group Ltd., where he has been executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer since 2012, AIG said in a statement. He will lead the general insurance global actuarial organization and report to Peter Zaffino, CEO of general insurance.
Mr. Lyons will also serve as a member of the general insurance executive leadership team.
AIG CEO Brian Duperreault has made a series of high-level appointments at the insurer since taking the helm in May 2017.
