A bill was introduced in the Utah House of Representatives on Wednesday that would prohibit a place of public accommodation to discriminate against an individual based on immunity status, either through vaccination or infection and recovery.
H.B. 0060, with certain exceptions, would prohibit a governmental entity from requiring proof of immunity status and would make it unlawful discrimination for an employer to require proof of immunity status. The bill also prohibits a governmental entity or employer from requiring an individual to receive a vaccine.
The partisan bill was introduced and referred to the House Business and Labor Committee, where it is pending.
Utah lawmakers passed legislation Thursday that would create a rebuttable presumption for first responders who contract COVID-19 on the job.
