Willis Towers Watson PLC said Monday it has hired former Aon PLC executive Hugo Wegbrans as global head of broking and broking strategy.
He fills the position left vacant following the departure of Joe Peiser to Aon in August.
Mr. Wegbrans, based in Amsterdam, will join Willis in early 2022 and will report to Adam Garrard, global head of risk and broking, Willis said.
Mr. Wegbrans was most recently leader, global strategies for Aon’s commercial risk solutions business. Prior to that, he served as global chief broking officer at Aon where he has spent most of his 35-year career.
Willis recently said it would reorganize its business and leadership from Jan. 1 into two segments: risk and broking, and health, wealth and career. The move followed the collapse of its merger with Aon.
Willis Towers Watson PLC on Monday named Carl Hess to succeed John Haley as CEO from Jan. 1, 2022, appointing him president of the company effective immediately.
