D&O insurance buyers see 110% rise in premium rates

A report by Marsh LLC said that insurance buyers in the U.K. faced a 110% rise in the cost of directors and officers liability insurance premiums in the first half of the year, Commercial Risk reported. D&O insurance rates increased by an average of 136% in the first quarter and by 92% in the second quarter, reflecting a slowdown in price hikes, which is likely to continue through the second half of the year as more insurers add more capacity.
