Europe’s largest methanol plant shuts after fire

Oil and gas firm Equinor ASA has suspended production at its methanol plant in Norway's Tjeldbergodden industrial facility until further notice after a fire at the site on Dec. 2, Chemical Week reported citing Oil Price Information Service. The plant accounts for more than 25% of European methanol production and is owned by Equinor and ConocoPhillips Co.
