BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

CRC Insurance Services Inc. has acquired specialty surplus lines broker and MGA W. Brown & Associates Insurance Services Inc. of Irvine, California, CRC said in a statement Tuesday.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Brown’s operations include brokerage, property/casualty binding, and transportation binding, and the deal will give CRC Binding a physical office in California for the first time. W. Brown & Associates will be part of CRC Group’s commercial solutions division, the statement said.

W. Brown & Associates Aviation was not included as part of the transaction.

West McAdams, president of CRC Binding, said the acquisition “continues the ongoing expansion of CRC Binding.”

Brian English, president of W. Brown & Associates, said joining CRC Group will give Brown access to more markets, products and analytics.

CRC Group places more than $10 billion in premium annually, the statement said.
