Help

BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

David R. Lockhart, formerly president of Berkley Co. unit Gemini Transportation Underwriters, has been named president of another Berkley unit, Carolina Casualty Insurance Co., the Greenwich, Connecticut-based insurer said Tuesday.

Mr. Lockhart will be succeeded at Gemini by Jason R. Lewis. Both appointments are effective immediately, Berkley said.

Mr. Lockhart succeeds David A. Dunn, who will continue to support Mr. Lockhart and Carolina Casualty during the transition, the statement said. Carolina Casualty specializes in insurance products and coverages designed exclusively for large fleet trucking and public transportation risks.

Mr. Lockhart joined Berkley in 2014 as senior vice president of Gemini, an excess vehicular insurance provider, was named executive vice president 2017, and president in 2018, the statement said.

Mr. Lewis joined Gemini as assistant vice president of underwriting in 2009, and most recently served as its senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, according to the statement.
