BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Lack of insurance could be omega for college Greek life

Dartmouth College

Socials, dues, candlelit ceremonies are all the things of college Greek life. Yet one essential component barely makes the list: insurance.

As Dartmouth College’s student-run newspaper reports, campus sororities are struggling to pay their insurance premiums because of the pandemic, which caused them to not collect dues this spring.

Those sororities have banded together to negotiate a reduction or delay of insurance payments with the college’s administration, according to the report in The Dartmouth.

The Office of Greek Life says property, general liability and directors and officers insurance are all requirements and organizations can opt to purchase their own private insurance or an insurance plan through the college's broker. The Greek houses typically generate income from dues and use that money to pay their insurance, according to the article.
