80% of nat cat losses are uninsured: Report

Research by Swiss Re Ltd. and Aon PLC has found that around $8 billion of every $10 billion that is lost in Latin America and the Caribbean due to natural catastrophes is uninsured, BNamericas reported. The industry should expect "larger and costlier events on a global scale" with population migration and coastal development exacerbating the impacts of climate change, the report said.
