Sompo International Holdings Ltd. named XL Catlin executive Ray Santiago executive vice president and leader of its U.S. commercial management liability and financial institutions teams, the Pembroke, Bermuda-based insurer said Tuesday.
Sompo said while the New York-based Mr. Santiago will have management oversight for the teams, they will continue to be led by Joe Spallone, senior vice president, commercial management liability, and Dennis Krause, senior vice president, financial institutions.
Mr. Santiago, who will report to Chris Sparro, CEO of U.S. Insurance, was most recently senior vice president of underwriting for XL Catlin’s professional liability team, Sompo said in its statement.
In November, Sompo named Mikio Okumura as CEO, effective Jan. 1.
Sompo International Holdings Ltd. said Wednesday that John Kuhn, currently the company’s CEO for global insurance, has taken on the additional role of chief underwriting officer for Sompo International’s property/casualty business.
