BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Ironshore exec announces departure

Timothy McAuliffe, president of Ironshore Insurance Services, said in a LinkedIn posting on Monday that it was his last day at the insurer.

A spokeswoman for Ironshore, whose $2.93 billion acquisition by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. was completed in 2017, said, “It was really a mutual decision — as Liberty Mutual and Ironshore are in the process of transitioning and integrating management on various levels.”

The Ironshore spokeswoman did not respond to a query asking who will replace Mr. McAuliffe.

Mr. McAuliffe, who was based in New York, joined Ironshore as president, specialty casualty and programs, in April 2009, and was named to his current position in May 2017, according to his LinkedIn profile. He was previously president, excess casualty, at American International Group Inc. unit American Home Assurance Co., according to the profile.

He said in his LinkedIn announcement that “it was an incredible run over the past almost 10 years. I was fortunate to work with and for very talented individuals and had tremendous opportunities as the company grew from start up to a strong leader in the Specialty Insurance space.”

Mr. McAuliffe said he looks forward to spending time with his family and pursuing other interests but will “welcome the opportunity to get back at it sooner than later.”
