Former Swiss Re exec joins program administrator as president

Pioneer Programs Insurance Solutions L.L.C. on Monday named Michael Kwan as president, taking over for company founder Carole Fleischman, who will remain CEO.
Mr. Kwan comes to Pioneer Programs from First Specialty Insurance Corp./Swiss Re Ltd., the Pasadena, California-based insurance program administrator said in a statement. Swiss Re recently reorganized its surplus lines business.
At Swiss Re, Mr. Kwan was a senior vice president and head of E&S casualty.
Pioneer Programs specializes in providing insurance coverage for construction contractors.
Mr. Kwan, who is based in Pasadena, will be in charge of underwriting and assist developing new programs and continued formation of the company’s business strategy, the Pioneer Programs statement said.
