BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Deadline extended for Break Out Awards nominations

Due to multiple requests for an extension, the deadline for nominations for Business Insurance’s 2018 Break Out Awards, which recognize the next generation of leaders in the insurance sector, has been extended to Thursday, April 12.

Now in their second year, the Break Out Awards are open to all up-and-coming managers and executives in the risk management and commercial property/casualty field.

Honorees from across the United States will be recognized for their leadership, expertise and professional skills and can be working in any area of the industry — risk managers, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, wholesalers, agencies, MGAs, MGUs, captive managers, third-party administrators and other service providers.

While there is no age limit, nominees must have worked in the industry for no more than 15 years. Nominees will have already established themselves in their careers and will be on a leadership trajectory.

Winners will be notified in late April, and regional awards events honoring the 40 winners — 10 from each of four regions — will be held in June.

For more information and to submit a nomination, click here.

This will be a hard deadline, so please submit nominations before midnight on April 12.
