Spain-based agricultural insurer La Agrupacion Espanola de Entidades Aseguradoras de los Seguros Agrarios Combinados S.A. said that it has paid out nearly $240 million for drought and frost damage, Gulf Times reported citing Agence France Presse. About 1.4 million hectares of grains, sunflowers and olive trees were damaged or destroyed by drought or frost in the country as of the end of October, the insurer said.
