A report by the Confederation of Indian Industry and U.K.-based consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers International Ltd. found that Indian insurers face challenges in the adoption of digital technology, The New Indian Express reported. “Global average investment in digital technologies is increasing over the years, while the insurance industry in India is lagging, both in its level of digitalization and its ability to realize financial returns on its digital investments,” the report said. The other challenges facing the industry include market instability and business losses arising from natural disasters.
