BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Chubb names leader of retail/nonprofit management liability business

Chubb Ltd. has named executive vice president Leigh Anne Sherman to lead its retail private/nonprofit management liability business within its North American financial lines division, the insurer said Monday.

Warren Township, New Jersey-based Chubb said in a statement that the business focuses on providing directors and officers liability, fiduciary liability, employment practices liability, workplace violence, crime and kidnap and ransom insurance products.

Along with her new position, Ms. Sherman will continue to provide oversight for the business’ underwriting service branch, which provides new and renewal underwriting and services for eligible management liability product offerings in the U.S., Chubb said in the statement.

Ms. Sherman is replacing Keith Lavigne, who has left the company, according to a spokeswoman. She is splitting her time between the New York and Simsbury, Connecticut, offices, the spokeswoman said in an email.

Hamilton, Bermuda-based Everest Re Group announced in May that Mr. Lavigne had been named the newly appointed New York-based leader of management and professional liability for its Everest Specialty Underwriters unit.
