Magnitude-6.8 quake hits Guatemala

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Guatemala on June 22, damaging buildings and downing trees, Reuters reported. The U.S. Geological Survey said that the quake struck 38km southwest of Puerto San Jose, at a depth of nearly 47km. A spokesman for fire services in Guatemala said that the quake had damaged houses, but there were no reports of causalities. Tremors were felt in neighboring countries of El Salvador, Mexico and Honduras.
