Premiums grow 30% to $11 billion in Turkey

Data from the Insurance Association of Turkey indicates that the local insurance market's total gross written premiums grew 30% year on year to more than 40 billion Turkish lira ($11 billion) in 2016 from the year prior, xprimm.com reported. The nonlife sector grew by 30% to TRY 35.4 billion accounting for more than 87% of the aggregate figure. Turkish insurer Allianz Sigorta A.S. generated the largest premium volume of nearly TRY 6 billion.
