To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Minimum capital requirement thins ranks of insurers

The Insurance Commission of Philippines has said that eight local nonlife insurers plan to merger in order to comply with the minimum paid-up capital requirement of 550 million Philippine pesos ($11 million), Manila Standard reports. Dennis Funa, insurance commissioner, said that three nonlife insurers plan to cease operations, while two plan to bring in new investors due to the higher capital requirement.
