Pacific to experience average 2016-17 cyclone season

New Zealand's National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research has predicted that the Pacific will experience an average 2016-17 cyclone season with eight to 10 tropical cyclones, IFRC reported. The prediction includes an elevated risk for Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Niue and the Solomon Islands. At least six storms are anticipated to reach Category 3 or greater, with four of those possibly reaching Category 4 strength or above during the season.
