XL appoints global excess casualty insurance leader

XL Group Ltd. has named Barbara Luck president of its global excess casualty business, effective Dec. 1.

Previously, Ms. Luck was chief underwriting officer of XL’s global risk management business, the insurer said Wednesday in a statement.

Ms. Luck succeeds Lorraine Seib, an XL spokeswoman said Thursday. Ms. Seib is now global head of excess casualty at Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., according to Aspen’s website.

Ms. Luck is based in New York.
