The Employers Council on Flexible Compensation has named Martin Trussell as its new executive director.
Prior to joining the Washington-based ECFC, Mr. Trussell was vice president of sales and business development at Acclaris, a software provider for accounts linked to consumer-driven health plans.
The ECFC represents employers on health care and flexible benefit plan issues.
Mr. Trussell “has been at the forefront of health care industry change for more than three decades, and his wealth of knowledge is unmatched,” ECFC Chairman William Short said in a statement Tuesday.
The ECFC executive director position has been vacant since last May following the resignation of Natasha Rankin, who left to become chief operating officer of the American Counseling Association in Alexandria, Virginia.
Federal health exchange plans have largely proved unprofitable for most health insurers, but new underwriting data could help reverse the trend, according to insurance credit analysts.
