Gross written premium of Polish insurers up 2.95% in Q1

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority has said that aggregate gross written premium of the country's insurers totaled 14.37 billion Polish zlotys ($3.8 billion) in the first quarter of 2015, up 2.95% year on year, Xprimm.com reported.

Claims paid during the period decreased 4.82% year on year to PLN 8.72 billion ($2.31 billion).

The Polish Chamber of Insurance said that nonlife insurance premium in the country totaled PLN 3.8 billion ($1 million) for the quarter.

Nonlife insurers' profit decreased 26% year on year to PLN 400 million ($106 million) in the quarter.
