Ten insurers sued over 2013 Alberta floods

Canada-based Foothills Foundation, a nonprofit housing management firm, has sued 10 insurers for $20 million Canadian ($16.2 million) for wrongly denying claims relating to damage from the 2013 floods in the country's Alberta province, Calgary Herald reports.

These insurers "wrongfully denied, failed or neglected to remediate or to complete remediation of the flooded property, personal property or equipment," or "remediated the flooded property in a deficient manner," said Foothills Foundation.

Northbridge General Insurance Corp. and Temple Insurance Co. are among the insurers being sued.
