Arthur J. Gallagher, the international unit of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has named Michael Rea as its new chief operating officer and Carol Richmond as its new chief risk officer based in London, the brokerage said Friday.
Ms. Richmond, who held the same post at Aon U.K. Ltd., succeeds Sarah Dalgarno as chief risk officer at the division.
A Gallagher spokeswoman said no further information was available about Ms. Dalgarno’s plans.
As Gallagher International’s chief operating officer, Mr. Rea’s fills a post that had been vacant since last October, when Janice Deakin was named CEO of Gallagher’s U.K. retail arm, a spokeswoman said. Previously, he was the group chief operating officer of Towergate Partners Ltd.
Both are based in London and will join Gallagher’s international brokerage executive committee.
“Michael’s experience in successfully consolidating acquired businesses will be a tremendous asset in the future development of our international strategy, whilst Carol’s insight and understanding of risk management and governance frameworks will be vital in safeguarding the business and that of our customers,” Grahame Chilton, CEO of the international division, said in a statement.
In addition, Ian Story has been named chief financial officer of the international division, a post he has held on an interim basis since February.
Arthur J. Gallagher, the London-based international operations of broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acknowledged it is cooperating with Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority on a report about the firm’s operations.
