Insurers contribute $141.2 million to India nuclear insurance pool

G Srinivasan, chairman and managing director of New India Assurance Co. Ltd., said in an interview that the country's nuclear insurance pool is almost ready for operations, reported Daily News & Analysis.

Mr. Srinivasan said that the insurer has set aside 2 billion Indian rupees ($31.3 million) for the pool.

Currently, the nuclear pool has a corpus of INR 9 billion ($141.2 million) with the public sector insurers contributing INR 7.5 billion ($117.6 million) to the pool.
