Andrew Wadsworth, an official at U.S.-based defense giant Lockheed Martin Corp., has said that oil, gas and industrial platforms in the Middle East are at risk of cyber attack, reported Khaleej Times.
A cyber attack on an industrial or energy platform could cause significant real-world damage as opposed to traditional hacking attacks, said Mr. Wadsworth. The high dependency on the oil and gas industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council "makes it a big juicy target," said Mr. Wadsworth.
