Investment growth at Africa Re

Omar Gouda, African Reinsurance Corp.'s regional director for North East Africa and the Middle East, has said that the reinsurer's premiums amounted to $718 million at the end of 2014, reports Amwal Al Ghad.

The reinsurer recorded a growth in total investments to $893 million by the end of 2014 as per initial indicators, said Mr. Gouda.

Africa Re's profits totaled $69 million before return on investment, Mr. Gouda said.

The reinsurer looks to expand its business in Angolan and Algerian markets, added Mr. Gouda.
