Extreme weather events to nearly double with global warning: Study

A recent study has found that extreme La Nina events in the Pacific Ocean would nearly double with global warming, BBC News reports.

A rise in extreme weather events like El Nino and La Nina would mean an increase in the occurrence of "devastating weather events with profound socio-economic consequences," said an expert.

Scientists have said that several parts of the world would experience weather patterns that switch between extremes of wet and dry.
