China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has said that FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co. Ltd. will recall 35,186 Audi cars in the country for a fuel injection system defect, Xinhua reported.
The poorly sealed fuel injection system might result in fire in extreme cases, said the quality watchdog.
The recall covers 32,371 Audi cars manufactured between April 2011 and February 2012, and 2,815 cars manufactured between July 2011 and June 2012, the quality watchdog said.
The automaker would also recall 16,725 Touareg models and 9,135 Cayenne and Panamera vehicles for similar defect.
