The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation, an affiliate of The Institutes, awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships in 2014 to students pursuing careers in risk management and insurance, the foundation said Thursday.
The Griffith Foundation, a Malvern, Pennsylvania-based nonprofit organization that promotes insurance and risk management education, awarded $102,000 to 40 students at 17 undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States, the foundation said in a statement.
Westfield Center, Ohio-based Westfield Insurance Co. and Westfield Agents Association provided seven of the scholarships, while The Griffith Foundation awarded more than $20,000 last year, according to the statement.
The Institutes is the operating name of the Malvern-based Insurance Institute of America and the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.
