Germany: Deutsche Bahn to file suit against 11 airlines over price fixing

Germany-based rail operator Deutsche Bahn A.G. has said that it would file a lawsuit against 11 airlines for alleged price fixing that had affected its freight business between 1999 and 2006, reports Reuters citing the Wirtschaftswoche magazine.

The airlines' price-fixing cartel was exposed seven years ago triggering fines. Deutsche Bahn is seeking about €1.76 billion ($2.2 billion) in compensation from Lufthansa A.G., which is among the 11 airlines. British Airways P.L.C. and Air France-KLM S.A. are also included in the list.
