Japan-based Tokio Marine Holdings Inc. and MS&AD Insurance Group have posted an increase in net profits for the first half of the 2014-15 fiscal year, reported Asia Insurance Review citing Jiji Press.
Tokio Marine reported a 56.3% year-on-year increase in net profit to 142.9 billion Japanese yen ($1.2 billion) for the six months ended September.
MS&AD's net profit totaled JPY 109.6 billion ($927.2 million), up 0.1% year on year.
Meanwhile, net profit at Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance Inc. decreased 47.1% to JPY 15.4 billion ($130.2 billion).
