Japan quake not expected to affect cat bonds

The magnitude 6.2 earthquake which struck the Nagano region of central Japan on Saturday is not likely to affect any of the exposed Japanese quake catastrophe bond deals, Artemis.bm reports.

"The earthquake will not affect any of the outstanding Japan earthquake catastrophe bonds because of the only limited amount of damage to buildings and infrastructure," said an official.

Damage from the quake was limited to Hakuba and adjacent regions.
