Aramark risk manager Debra Rodgers honored

Aramark Corp. risk manager Debra Rodgers last week was awarded the 2014 Distinguished Leadership Award from the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.
The society presented the award to Ms. Rodgers, senior vice president of global risk management for the Philadelphia-based food services provider, during a gala ceremony Nov. 19. According to the society, the annual award recognizes an industry executive who demonstrates exemplary leadership and has promoted the stature of the insurance and associated industries.
“No one better exemplifies distinguished leadership through mentoring than Debbie Rodgers,” Russell Shaner, president of the Insurance Society of Philadelphia, said in a statement. “Her work to help guide her peers, fellow women in the industry, as well as the next generation of insurance leaders is second to none.”
Ms. Rodgers, whose career in risk management dates back more than 25 years, said she was honored by the award.
“As a leader in this industry, I have always seen the value — and tried to work toward the goal of — creating a more diverse group of individuals with a seat at the risk management table,” Ms. Rodgers said in the statement.
Business Insurance named Ms. Rodgers Risk Manager of the Year® in 2010.
