Abdul Rahman Al Baker, an executive director at Central Bank of Bahrain, has said that Bahrain's takaful industry reported a 7% year-on-year growth in 2013 with premiums totaling 57.2 million Bahraini dinars ($151.7 million), Bahrain News Agency reports.
Takaful premiums made up 22% of the total gross premiums in the country.
Growth prospects remain strong, said Mr. Al Baker.
By the end of 2014, the global takaful industry contribution is likely to touch $14 billion, a 14% growth over 2013, Mr. Al Baker said.
