Insurers in Finland should be prepared for "the adverse effects of the weak economic situation," Anneli Tuominen, head of Finland's Financial Supervisory Authority, has said.

The financial regulator said insurers in the country have good capital positions and solvency margins, reports Reuters.

But their financial positions could be hit by Finland's weak economy, which is in its third year of recession, Reuters reported.
