Australia: Major compensation fight over Melbourne Star Observation Wheel rebuildReprints
Sanoyas Rides Corp., which built the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, is suing Alfasi Steel Constructions Pty. Ltd., which rebuilt the structure, for more than $6 million Australian ($5.6 million), reported Herald Sun.
Sanoyas said an insurer paid about $6.7 million Australian ($6.2 million) to Alfasi after the wheel was damaged during rebuilding works in November 2011.
The documents indicate that Alfasi owes Sanoyas the consultancy costs, which the latter had paid to redesign the wheel.
Sanoyas is claiming $6.1 million Australian ($5.7 million) of the insurance payment held on trust by Alfasi, the writ said.
