Canada: Damage from Airdrie hailstorm could cost up to $91 million, says expertReprints
Costs related to damage from the hailstorms that recently hit Airdrie, Alberta, could reach up to $100 million Canadian ($91 million), Darren Godfrey from Intact Insurance Co. said.
Damage for now has been pegged at around CAD 25 million, CBC reported. "Unfortunately in Alberta, in particular, we get the vast majority of storms that we see across coast-to-coast in Canada," Mr. Godfrey said. He added that both the severity and frequency of storms in Alberta are rising.
