Vietnam: Damage from Typhoon Rammasun totals $6.2 million

Typhoon Rammasun has claimed 27 lives in Vietnam and caused economic damage of about 125 billion Vietnamese dongs ($6.2 million), Vietnam's National Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control said.

The committee said the typhoon unroofed nearly 500 houses, collapsed over 700 and flooded 6,000, reports Xinhua.

More than 200 hectares of vegetable and about 4,000 hectares of rice were waterlogged.
