Chicago-based law firm Seyfarth Shaw has released a guide to the 50 states’ noncompete and trade secrets laws.

The free 2014-15 edition of “50 State Desktop Reference: What Employers Need to Know About Non-Compete and Trade Secrets Law” e-book provides information on laws related to the use of employee restrictive covenants and intellectual capital protection in each state.

“This booklet will serve as a useful and informative tool to help the human resources professional, in-house counsel, or company executive navigate this complex environment of law to protect their most valuable and confidential assets,” said co-author Michael Wexler, a Chicago-based Seyfarth partner.

Robert Milligan, a partner in Seyfarth’s Los Angeles office, is the other co-author. The two attorneys co-chair the firm’s trade secrets, computer fraud and non-competes practice group.

Copies of the reference are available here.
